The pollution of the working medium is the main reason for the failure of the hydraulic system. Statistics show that more than 75% of the failure of the hydraulic system is caused by the pollution of the working medium. Whether the hydraulic oil is clean not only affects the working performance of the hydraulic system and the service life of the hydraulic components, but also directly affects whether the hydraulic system can work normally.
The pollution control work of hydraulic oil is mainly from two aspects: one is to prevent pollutants from invading the hydraulic system; The second is to remove contaminants that have already invaded from the system. Pollution control should run through the design, manufacture, installation, use, maintenance and repair of the entire hydraulic system.
Adopting suitable oil filter is an important means to control hydraulic oil pollution. However, if the oil filter is not used correctly, it will cause unexpected results.
The oil filter can only be installed on the pipeline with one-way oil flow, and it must be noted that the inlet and outlet of the oil can not be reversed. Originally, the oil filter has a clear indication of the direction of oil flow (as shown below), and generally should not make mistakes, but in actual use there are indeed examples of failure caused by reverse connection. This is because the general size of the oil filter inlet and outlet is the same, and the connection method is the same. If the flow direction of the oil is not clear during construction, it may be reversed.
When the filter oil is filtered, it is originally passed through the filter screen, and then through the holes on the skeleton, from the outlet. If the connection is reversed, the oil will first pass through the holes in the skeleton, then pass through the filter screen and flow out of the outlet. What happens if it’s reversed? Generally speaking, the initial effect of use is consistent, because the filter is the filter screen, and it will not be found that the connection is reversed. However, with the extension of the use time, the gradual accumulation of pollutants on the filter screen, the increase of the pressure difference between the import and export, the skeleton plays a supporting role in the forward flow, which can ensure the strength of the filter screen and will not tear the filter screen; When used in reverse, the skeleton can not play a supporting role, the filter is easy to tear, once torn, pollutants along with the torn filter debris, the wire of the filter into the system, will make the system quickly fail.
Therefore, before preparing to start the commissioning equipment, make sure that the oil filter orientation is correct again.
